About The Artwork
This is another one of my series of Tesla's portraits, the latest one. Nikola Tesla is considered a genius, with numerous patents to his name. Inventor, scientist and an altruist in his heart, he is an inspiration and a mystery to many, to this day. There are many famous quotes by him and I will write one of them: “My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists.” He had a strangle love for pigeons and here is a part of the text found in the article in Britannica: "Among Tesla’s quirks was his fondness for pigeons. When living in New York, he spent hours each week feeding pigeons in the park and routinely took home any that were injured so he could nurse them back to health. He often kept the windows open in the hotel suite in which he lived so pigeons could visit when they wished, resulting in a horrible mess. He once even asked a hotel chef to prepare a special mix of seeds for his feathered friends.: I love his connection with birds, as I have the same connection and love for them. Sonja Bela was born and raised in Serbia and after her formal undergraduate education she has received her BFA from the Buscharest National University of Fine Arts, Department of Painting. She has had both group and solo exhibitions at galleries in Bucharest, Romania, Pancevo and Belgrade, Serbia. In my work as an artist, I am fascinated by variety of subjective views and the nature of reality since childhood. I like to visually explore possibilities of other viewpoints, perspectives, human potential and its impact on the whole. Inspired by people who manage to influence positive change in other people’s lives, I am dedicated to intuitively inspire inner joy and compassion through beauty, color and playfulness. I have spent many years working and travelling near seas, collecting ideas and inspiration. In addition to my work as an artist, I am a student in yogic and Buddhist traditions, exploring the nature of reality and human mind. My major influences range from American art and artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat to Himalayan and Asian art.
