In this whimsical artwork, we encounter a surrealistic depiction of apples, each bearing a unique and enchanting form. Two apples are presented together, their shapes and colors dancing in harmony with the surrounding space. These apples, rendered in a surrealistic style, transcend their ordinary nature to become symbols of profound significance. At first glance, the apples appear as mere fruit, but upon closer inspection, their whimsical shapes and vibrant colors hint at deeper layers of meaning. They evoke the symbolism of the apple in various cultural and mythological contexts, most notably as a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, and temptation. In the realm of Carl Jung's psychology, the apple holds rich symbolic significance, representing the quest for self-discovery and the journey into the depths of the unconscious mind. It is associated with the concept of the "forbidden fruit" in the Garden of Eden, where eating from the tree of knowledge brought both enlightenment and consequences. Within the context of this artwork, the apples serve as vessels of hidden knowledge and secret wisdom, inviting viewers to contemplate the mysteries of existence and the complexities of the human psyche. Their surrealistic forms suggest that there is more to reality than meets the eye, encouraging us to delve beneath the surface and explore the depths of our own subconscious. As we gaze upon these whimsically shaped apples, we are reminded of the symbolic power of the fruit that has captivated human imagination for centuries. They invite us to embrace the journey of self-discovery, to seek out the hidden truths that lie within, and to embrace the complexities of the human experience.

I am a London-based visual artist who is deeply inspired by the Baroque epoch and its parallels with the contemporary moment. As a child born during the Chernobyl Disaster, I have always been fascinated by the quest for immortality through science and art, and the vulnerability and strength of the body. My background in Baroque painting and theatre design has heavily influenced my contemporary art practices, allowing me to create bold and punkish works that are not afraid to tackle contemporary issues. My aim is to make painting popular again, just like it was in the Baroque times, creating works that leave a lasting impression and provide catharsis. Drawing inspiration from fashion icons like Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, I seek to push the boundaries of painting and make it a relevant and contemporary art form. I am an active participant in the London art scene, with my most recent exhibition being a solo show at Hampstead Art School in April 2023. I am constantly seeking to challenge myself and push the boundaries of what is possible with painting, and I hope to continue to do so for many years to come.
