The Apple Painting

This work was inspired by the story of Adam and Eve. Mankind is now charting new worlds, not of land, but of the artificial mind. The apple represents more than the apple from the garden of Eden, it symbolizes computer technology and AI. There is a bite taken out of it, the process has already started. The woman staring at the apple brings to mind Eve, but she is not, she did not take the bite, she is part of humankind who will unwittingly be part of this new world. Her red lips represent the sensuality of life, an element that is uniquely human in contrast to a machine. The question being asked is whether humankind will again be cast out, not from Eden but from earth this time, in the final fall.
