The Blue Hour II Painting

This painting started out with a particular shade of blue/violet grey that gave me an emotional response and helped me pick the next colours to use, mauve, turquoise and rose that were blended, graduated and diffused to express that particular time of day, twilight when it's no longer light but not yet total darkness. The silver-blue light of the moonlight rising added to the serene atmosphere of this piece that would be perfect as a focus for relaxation or contemplation. I exhibit internationally and my art is featured in collections worldwide. This is an oil on deep edged canvas that is ready to hang. The edges, painted white, are 1.75" deep so framing is not required. All paintings are varnished to add a protective coat against dust. Only the highest quality archival fine art grade oil paints are used on the surface gessoed and prepared by myself.
