The Contradiction of Life Painting

"Life is a series of random events, and only at the end will you discover what's important." This is a quote by the famous author Kur Vonnegut. In some ways it sums up this painting perfectly well. Although I didn't know how I wanted this to look at the end of the painting, I wanted to explore the notion of randomness, order and harmony. My aim here was to put the most random and contrasting elements together and then find some kind of beauty and order amongst it. This is not an easy thing to do. A painting like this takes a lot of careful thought and there's a lot of risk involved. This painting worked quite well and in the end, I managed to find balance and harmony among chaos and disorder. This painting measures approximately 30cm x 25cm and is painted on composite wood.
