PLEASE NOTE: While this piece is currently for sale, it may not be available until December 2016. It is currently competing in the National Open Art Competition. It has made it into the final judging. If selected, it will be on display in an exhibition in London and therefore unavailable. I visited Lulworth Cove in the summer of 2015 with my family. It is fairly easy to be inspired with the naturally beautiful setting. Consistent with the English coast, we experienced all sorts of different weather. Around the time we were in this spot, the wind picked up, the temperature dropped, and the rain moved it. Much like my painting, “London Eye”, the majority of this painting was done with using palette knives versus brushes.

Grew up in Detroit, spent 18 years in Columbus, Ohio, lived abroad outside London, UK, and now live in the metro Chicago area. Always drawing, I learned to paint in high school with a focus in watercolor. With a landscape architecture degree from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Capital University, I put my abilities to work in designing and constructing golf courses and countless gardens. Eventually I transitioned into creating marketing campaigns for a major US insurance carrier. I began painting again a few years back to help encourage my children’s creativity. When my family was given the opportunity to move outside London, I decided it was time to take my work public. My work is inspired by my experiences. More importantly, I am trying to share those experiences through my work. While in receiving my Landscape Architecture degree, I learned to design using the genius loci, or spirit of place. I want that spirit to come out in my art. The choice of subjects is based on a passion for my interests. I work in many different mediums and styles. I love the challenge of trying something new, which is reflected in the diversity of work.
