Inspired by my current research of the development of the American police system. One of those influences being the relationship between Slave Patrols and modern American policing. The first half of the face is a poster dated April 24th, 1851 warning colored people in Boston to beware of police officers who acted as slave catchers. The badge on the left was created in South Carolina in the early 1700 of what a Slave Parole badge, at the bottom a drawing of a runaway slave that was originally on a wanted poster. On the right side is the a modern police badge with a the red and blue siren lights in the background while the red siren is creating a small stream of blood of a "suspect" who is lying on the ground.

I am a visual artist and my primary mediums are painting and drawing. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a minor in Art History from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2015. For most of my life I have been involved and interested in art. Since the age of four I have worked to further and hone and improve my skills as an artist. In 2010 I was selected to represent the Buffalo region in the National Associate for the Advancement of Colored People Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO), a nationally recognized competition where I was selected for writing and the fine arts. Competing in ACT-SO turned out to be a life changing decision. It gave me a broader perspective on the possibilities that the visual arts have to offer. Since then I have participated in live painting events, curated an exhibition for my art, instructed art workshops, and developed a business to consumer strategy for the selling and promotion of my artwork. The theme of my artwork involves visually powerful images that attempt to force the viewer think about uncomfortable issues without deflecting their own feelings.
