The Elephant in the Room was inspired by life, relationships, sculpture, and fables. I wanted the viewer to feel the angst of trying to ignore something and how very overwhelming and uncomfortable avoidant behavior is. The Elephant and the bird are entangled in their own sculptural web of misunderstanding and conflict. The space around them is closing in on the two---strangling and suffocating both of them until it's unbearable. The bird is unable to fly and free itself from the elephant. ***The Elephant in the Room is painted on primed canvas. Professional framing is recommended.
