ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a tribute to one of my most favourite periods in the history of art. Pop art. Playing with recognisable elements from everyday life. This man took his style elements from the world of comics. And as a graphic artist, I can intensely enjoy the bright colours and the black and white grids. Thank you Roy Lichtenstein.

ReiNarDus is a Dutch painter who lives and works in Sint-Martens-Latem (Belgium). He graduated as a graphic designer but painting has always been his first love. It all started with the simple lines and bright colours that he found in comic books as a child. Over the years, his art has evolved from simple cartoonlike drawings to a more realistic style. These days, his interest lies primarily in portraying the human figure with the emphasis on color and the substance of the paint itself.
