The Funeral 2 Painting

The Funeral 2 is the first version of The Funeral. This is a more realistic (not surrealistic) painting. I do remember having a lot of fun doing this painting, mostly the wooden floor. Wood is a living thing, it change with the time ,it catch up character through the steps of the ones walking over. Imagine if this wooden floor could talk. Even tears fell over it. Although the painting looks unfinished, I worked long time on it. It was very hard to depict it as I was present in the funeral itself and I did the painting one week after the funeral. Feelings and memories were rumbling in my head as I was trying to built the painting. I could say, it was a hard and weird experience to do the Funeral 2. And why named The Funeral 2? Well…I knew I will do at least another version of it. A less implicit version, more subrealist.
