My daughter kept asking me to paint her a painting in black, white, red and silver. As I was starting it, she moved into a new house and totally changed her decor and colors. She loved the painting, but the black and red simply don't fit: in her new house and I decided to keep the painting. My daughter now wants a light blue painting:-).So, here is this painting "The Gift" or maybe it should be called "The Gift That Was Finally Not Given".
It is on a firm cradled wood panel with sides painted black. It has some highly textured petals and the falling petals give it life and movement.
It has been varnished to protect it from dust and it is wired, ready to hang and enjoy.

When I paint, I am happy and feel whole. I paint the beauty of light and the joy I find in life! My work wants to be a sharing of a moment of serenity and balance. It is an expression and reconciliation of my inner dichotomy: I love creativity while needing structure; I love fluidity and softness of colors while craving realist details and lines. Consequently, for example, my watercolour demonstrate realism with colors much enhanced by my imagination. My paintings of sculptures and carvings depict the dancing light on crumbling brickwork, or pastel colors on the stone carvings. In my acrylic or watercolour “Leaves Series”, mysterious but serene light filters through the stems and leaves, water shimmers here and there as the leaves float on the pond. My oil paintings dance with vibrant colors on top of well-structured florals. My first art love was watercolour and my watercolour paintings have won many awards and I have completed major corporate commissions in watercolour. However, I am an explorer at heart and love to try new surfaces, new styles and techniques. I go from watercolour to acrylic paints to mixed media to realistic oils. In the last few years I have become obsessed with detailed oil florals especially of peonies and sunflowers.
