About The Artwork

This picture took the 3rd place among classical painting at the "Russian Art Week" – XXV international exhibition and competition of modern and contemporary art. Nomination "Esoterica". "Professionals" Category. Mixed technique: acrylic and gouache on relief paper. The paper is stretched on a wooden tablet. The picture is inserted into the volume frame. Tablet and frame included. Work style is mixed. I combined classical realism with my own author abstractionism. The work is on a religious theme, but it is done in my understanding of religion. The painting depicts Krishna, Jesus, Svarog and Buddha - the Gods standing in heaven, holding hands of each other. There are clouds under their feet, around them everything is flooded with warm golden light, waves of heat and light emanate from their hands. I portrayed the Gods of those religions that are closest to me. If I were born elsewhere or at another time, there might be other saints here. I am a Christian, I respect and close to Hinduism and Buddhism, and as a Russian, I understand that my roots are in Slavism. And I accept it. A couple of years ago I was very fond of yoga, religion and esotericism. I traveled a lot in places of power, in special forests, turned to religion, meditated and practiced for many hours a day. I even went to the Arctic Ocean with Master Budhi Yoga to meditate there. During those years, much has changed in me. I began to look wider at the world, became more tolerant and more conscious. I understood and accepted that all people are different, that each of us has our own World, and that which is good and understandable for one may be completely different for the other. I still awe true faith. This summer I went to Valaam Island. It is a monastery. This is one of the largest and oldest shrines in Russia. The island is located far to the north, in the northern part of the stern Lake Ladoga. On the island there is a magical atmosphere of deep, quiet, delightful peace. This trip inspired me to create this work. All religions of the World lead to one goal. I think that the incarnations of the Most High on our earth had the same goal, but they simply spoke in different words and in different languages. They took different guises and came to where it was most needed. I hope that my work will lead to thoughts of unity and harmony. On the idea that all people on earth are brothers, that religious and other differences between nations have no real matter. Even on the scale of one family. After all, we all live on the same land and we have one Earth. If, thanks to my work, there will be more peace and harmony in at least one family, I will consider this as the best success.
