Artist Leona Tobin, cubist paints "The Importance of Self." Writer W.A.L. writes "The Importance of Self." Hello my friends. Loft your weary head for I have come to lend my company. Feeling has eclipsed time as I have not forgotten you. You were once my shield, my savior and I have returned to help you through the dreariest of life's moments. Moments that leave questions and sadness. Cry not your eyes for the truth is in you. Worry not this truth. It shall well up and give you strength. Now dream a little dream, for tomorrow you will awake with a new yearning for your rediscovered self. Written by W.A.L.

Artist Leona Tobin is a contemporary expressionist's painter who works primarily with oil on canvas. She is a single mother to three beautiful children and a California native. Leona fell in love with art as a child, and takes comfort in the joy and therapy it provides her today. She says that all of life inspire her, and color fuels her desire to paint. She has assisted over 500 children in their creative endeavors and is an author illustrator of her children's story, "Lily's Flight for Peace and the Fussyoderpus." Her work has been shown at many venues and charity events throughout California and is currently shown at John Hanes Fine Art Gallery in Boonville CA, and at Fume Bistro in Napa CA. Her work can be viewed on-line and in private installations throughout the states. Statement: "My paintings are esthetically colorful and abstract. They are a reflection of my heart, mind and the worldly influences that affect all of us. My goal is to express matters of the heart while uniting political, racial, gender, economic and religious counter crosses. For this reason, I often paint animals to narrate certain stories or concepts having to do with human interaction and social concerns. The colors I use are chosen instinctively. I paint the colors I crave, bringing life to the stories I paint. I hope my paintings have a positive impact on the hearts of those they touch. Best Wishes!"
