Elizabeth Ann Chavous was raised in a small community of Philadelphia, Pa, which was affectionately known as "The Meadows". Much of her inspiration comes from her childhood days prior to World War 2. Growing up she enjoyed the beauty of nature where there were open fields of violets and clover in the summer and lots of snow and ice in the winter. She attended school there, and later married and raised 3 daughters. After the death of her husband of 62 years, she began a new career in painting at the age of 83. By this time she had lost the ability to write in cursive, but this does not affect her ability to create art. This career in art has given new meaning to her life and she hopes to inspire other seniors to re-invent themselves as well. Currently, she resides in the Nashville, Tenn. area.
