As a child, I learned to be entertained by the simplest of objects as long as there were many patterns involved in which I would pretend I was sliding inside of a small pattern, or if it was glass because the amount of colors i could see reflected from any given light source were many more than i could count or even name.

Quite simply, I love light and how it is represented being reflected off of hammered silver and cut glass. I enjoy setting up a still life setting with different shaped glass vessels filled with varying amounts of liquid. I move my light source around as I do my camera in order to capture the greatest amount of incandescence and radiance and I try to relate this in my art.

I call this piece "The Ladies" because each vessel reminds me of a group beautiful women, friends, dressed in their finest, all different body types, but each one as equally vibrant and self-aware, glamorous, confident and magnificent as the other.

I hope the viewer can enjoy every gleam of uplifting light this painting bestows.
