Latin culture, specially guatemalan culture is know for its colors, life and playfulness. But there is a magical -almost naive- yet strong and mythical nature to the culture I grew up in. Where women are still seen as second class citizens yet, in the rural areas of the country, are the major supporters of homes and economy due to a hi level of alcoholism in males. This painting represents this nature, the women placed int the lower right corner (center using fibonacci rule) is the only character that I chose to put color. Stating her importance in the cultural society. The painting is plagued with idiosyncratic elements of our culture and full of surprises to find.
