About The Artwork

A young deer died in my garden, his head turned as if he gazes into another world. He is light as a dancer, knowing how to live a short life devotedly, unconditionally. He may have a message for me. (Deer are seen as messengers of the divine in Japanese Shinto culture.)

After graduating as a human rights lawyer, I set foot on a winding path in the arts. Sculpture, painting and curating site specific exhibitions have my enthusiasm, but since the last decade I focus more on environmental/site-specific art. A central theme in my artwork is the human relationship with nature. I live in an urban, digital, global world and I research possible ways to engage in nature. By using natural materials I seduce myself and others to get closer to, or even ‘enter’ nature.
