About The Artwork
Claude Monet's water lily pictures in the Musée de l'Orangerie enchant with their dimension and perfect staging. Christoph Robausch uses his specially developed method to translate and resize these large-format pictures into an independent world of events, in harmony with the same mystical mood He forms a corrugated, relief-like painting surface out of metal, which looks like a naturally moving surface of water. Depending on the light conditions, location and viewing angle, the radiance of the colors and the intensity of the reflections changes and new moods keep emerging from the inexhaustible depth. The lightfast ink is waterproof and the natural oxidation of the recycled aluminum ensures that the colors remain bright. The picture sculpture is signed on the front and back with the initials cR and also dated on the back. Can be installed immediately, framing is not required.
