About The Artwork
"The Night Ship" drew its inspiration from the shadow work of the baroque art movement. The setting focuses in on four men at the docking of a late night passenger ship. Under the candlelight, the aura given off by the piece is tense and the eye-contact serves its purpose by unnerving the viewer, while subsequently ensnaring them into the artwork itself. This piece is accompanied by an original Victorian gesso and wood frame from the late 1880's as well as hanging hardware. It is ready for placement on a wall.
