About The Artwork

This is a copy of the author's painting Ivan Aivazovsky - the Ninth wave Painted with oil on canvas, canvas stretched on stretcher bars. All the paintings presented in my shop are hand-written: About This Job Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky – the most famous Russian seascape painter, and his most famous painting is, without doubt, can be called "the Ninth wave". The picture, written in 1850, in Feodosia, was immediately purchased by Nicholas I for the Hermitage. In 1897, the painting passed into the collection of the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. There is a belief that Michelangelo has depicted in the painting's own experiences. In 1844, the artist traveled on a ship that was caught in a violent storm off the coast of the Bay of Biscay. The ship was believed to have died, reported by several Newspapers published an obituary Aivazovsky. The impressions received by the artist in the journey, is later reflected in the writing of "the Ninth shaft".
