The Pan Painting

I was born in Kruševac, Serbia in 1965. My father is Serbian and my mother was Russian Greek origin. There was many artists in my mothers family, so i got talent from her side. I was an excellent student on the mathematics section of the Kruševac secondary school, but love for art determines me to enter the State art Academy. After the entrance examination I will be admitted directly to the second year, and that happened only couple of times in the history of that university. Although I graduated from Belgrade University of Art,and I was a good student and even mastered there (drawing), in fact, I've been trying to get back to where I was like an artist before art academy. I always thought that reaching this level of spontaneity and honesty was something of the most important and most valuable. This, however, involved the renunciation of almost everything that the academy taught me. What I did before the academy was and remains my holy grail for which I have been searching for all my life. The theme of my art was the imagination (or dreaming if you like). I was never interested in the real world around me. I was always interested in the artwork that I was wearing in some other worlds and who showed me miracles! Hieronymus Bosh, Dali, movies of Bunuel and Spielberg’s Wars of the world, Odyssey in Space and other wonders of world art. If art does not open to you other worlds, there is no reason for you to do it. You do not even look at it if someone else did it. I have exhibited at important galleries in Belgrade. 1994 at Kolarac gallery. 1999 in the Great Gallery of the Cultural Centre of Belgrade,.foreword written by Nikola Kusovac. 2007 and 2019 in the Happy Gallery of Belgrade Student Cultural Centre . 2009 in gallery SULUJ. 2011 in the ULUS gallery. I also exhibited in France with artists of famous art brut and marginal art gallery Idee des Artistes, the current Polad Hardouin Gallery. I exhibited at the October Salon in 1997 in Belgrade. I can proudly say that some of most important intellectuals of Serbia was attracted to my work like philosopher Milan Damnjanović, famous intellectual and Serbian academic Vladeta Jerotić, and most famous art historian of Serbia Nikola Kusovac. In his book Serbian Painting of the 20th Century Nikola Kusovac listed all the artists in the last 100 years that he considered worth mentioning in his opinion. Among them is my name.
