The Red Painting Painting

I paint because I have to; I have to create, imagine, evoke, and react. My work for the past ten years focused on abstract art and how it recorded and evoked emotions through colour, movement and arrangement. My current work goes back to where I started eighteen years ago, focusing on the representation of human figure and portraiture. Abstract for me was an easy and fast struggle; human figure and portraiture in the other hand has a deeper pursuit of beauty and emotional investigation. Through my art, I seek to create an engaging visual environment through line, colour and form. This provides me with the means to develop my own unique artistic voice. My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience. The artists I most admire can be a long list of old masters and contemporary artist that include Lucian Freud, Rembrandt, and John Singer Sargent.
