Art Description

Painting: Oil on Canvas.

Inspired by the movie "The Orange Thief" (u'latruni d'aranci) which featured a young Sicilian man with a cigarette always dangling from his lip. The story if very interesting since it is about land and the landless and the desperation of those who have little or nothing and what they need to do for survival. The painting is a portrait of the actor Andrea Calabrese and with his headers showing to the right he sort of looks like an Egyptian pharaoh.

Keywords: pharaoh, Youth, Sicily, Sicilian, man
