ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I've been hatching this idea for a couple of years, pondering a whole series of silhouette cities. The question was only for the depicted objects - will they agree or not?!;)) Sightseeings or little recognizable streets and houses?! Different cities or one familiar?! Color or b/w?! Love with cities happens after the fact - sometimes immediately, sometimes after months or years. Often it depends on a hasty acquaintance, the gloomy weather, no time for communication. But you cannot order your heart! Each city has its own relationship - romantic, thoughtful, concise, flirty, refined ... So different and still very similar. Silhouette cities - my love story with the cities? The feeling of the unknown is wonderful, I love it very much! When you don't know what is around the corner, behind that house, on the pages of a new book, in the soul of a casual passerby... I like to get to know the city from scratch, I like traveling without maps and preliminary plans - only you and the city, you and his story, you and what he wants to show/tell you. Sometimes the silhouette of the city attracts, lures, captivates, does not let go... much stronger/longer than a detailed realistic image. Up to date the serie "Silhouette cities" includes 17 paintings. This painting is No.13 - Venice. NOTE: The colors shown on your screen and/or web viewing devices may vary slightly from the actual painting or print colors. The images in-home might not be to scale, and serve for illustration purposes only.

A full-time Ukrainian watercolor artist based in Braunschweig (Germany) since spring 2013. I was born and grew up in Poltava, Ukraine. I’ve dreamed to be a painter since my childhood and only after my 25th birthday I’ve started to paint. 6th November 2012 was the best day in my life – my first art class. Traveling and painting has been my big dream, which finally came true in 2013 when we moved from Poltava (Ukraine) to Braunschweig (Germany). I find inspiration in a beauty of nature, flowers and plants, in the beauty of the environment around – from ancient to modern architecture, cityscapes, minimalistic landscapes, and clouds, sunsets, endless sky. To know the materials better I have visited several factories of art materials producers - Hahnemühle (April 2018), Royal Talens (May 2018), Escoda (March 2019). Furthermore, I work and cooperate with world producers of art materials - Hahnemühle, Schmincke, Da Vinci, St. Cuthberts Mill, ShinHan, Royal Talens, Escoda, Rosa, Tombow. I am a member of German Watercolor Society since April 2018 and a member of International Watercolor Society in 2018/2019.
