ABOUT THE ARTWORK
DETAILS AND DIMENSIONS
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

For about ten years, beginning in the mid-1980's, I did a lot of paintings with vessel forms in them. I've always thought of them as stand-ins for the human. If you think of it, a clay pot--made of earth but formed by hand and mind--is a potent metaphor for our relationship with the planet.

Born 1948 in Oregon, USA. Lived five years in Arizona and seven in California. Currently living in Vancouver, Washington. I'm a professional artist and muralist with many years experience. My paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the country. I have also completed numerous murals and public projects in communities and locales across the United States and Canada. My career has developed in a somewhat unconventional way, as over the years two distinct styles have emerged and seem to want to persist: a traditional style of quite literal realism and, side by side, a more intuitive one that might be described as a species of hybrid abstraction.
