About The Artwork

Oil on fine grain linen over aluminium cradled panel. This painting was inspired by walking along a prehistoric (possibly processional) routeway that links the upper Clyde valley with the Forth estuary. Cutting through the south-west of the Pentland Hills, Scotland, there are a number of burial cairns along this particular section of the route (near West Linton).

*UPDATE 2023*: If you would like to buy any of the work on my profile please email me directly at niall.stev5@gmail.com to discuss this. I am a painter based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Currently I'm working on a series of landscapes based on walks (and very often visits to prehistoric archaeological sites) in the Pentland Hills. I am also making photo-realist paintings of urban architecture I've documented in Edinburgh and Cologne. I hope to exhibit these in Edinburgh in 2023 (venue tbc).
