The Valley - SOLD Painting

I create abstract art that reflects landscape and the world around us. My pieces stimulate the viewer to imagine places they’ve been or want to experience. I like to create art that uses texture, using a variety of paints and mediums. I use tools to create a variety of movement to the products that go into creating a piece. Having a background in interior design, I tend to create pieces that are in a more neutral palette to work with a lot of design interiors. I find this is very soothing on the eye and evokes a contemplative calm emotion to the viewer. I find inspiration in the world around me. I am a nature lover and having a cottage at the lake, I love to paint pieces that are inspired by landscape. Living in a cold climate in Canada, I will often use cool colors that simulate a winter scene. I am energized when I see different textures and try to incorporate a variety of texture in my pieces. I want to create art that inspires people to want that piece of art on a wall in their homes. I have had an interest in art since I was a child and as I got older there were always things that stood in the way of me pursuing my artistic abilities. When my father passed away, I decided life is too short. You have to stop and smell the flowers and pursue the things that take you to your ‘happy place’. It’s also a place of healing and emotion. In the future, I would love to see my art exhibited in galleries and also expand my commission works.
