Art Description

Painting: Oil, Acrylic and Paper on Canvas.

*CURRENTLY ON EXHIBITION- Will be for sale again after August 15, 2018

Oil, acrylic, ink and mixed media collage on exposed linen canvas. This piece is a fusion of painting, drawing and collage. It is part of my "Fauna & Flora" Series. In this series, I'm creating a metaphor for the continual cycle of decay and regeneration on Earth. In each work, I carefully build up layers of paint, collaged vintage ephemera, drawings, and natural elements into an eclectic nature-inspired composition. Birds are the protagonists. They usurp the place of humans, interacting with what humans left behind in the environment– ranging from old machine parts to a typewriter or vintage radio. Paper scraps and fragments of what we leave behind as a civilization address the transience of our era. Old and new come together in my work, celebrating nature, memory and the cycle of life. This artwork ships wired and ready to hang unframed. Signed on back.
