The fourth lock on the canal Painting

Sylvie Lauzon is a self-taught, abstract, mixed-media artist based in Montreal. She started to experiment with watercolor and figurative drawing – it did not take long before she realized she wanted to explore a more intuitive approach. Using a broader list of media, including acrylic, collages, graphite and various crayons, each work is unique and personal. Sylvie generates a feeling of space with tension, all while surprising with the simplicity of her work. At first reading, the boldness of her work may resonate to many, but this is more at the second reading that we feel the sensitivity and even fragility in line work. Her work is held in private collections in Canada, the USA, Australia and the UK.
