Painting: acrylic-wax-ink-gold leaf medium horizon of light with blue as the dominant color the gold leaf intensifies the light and the touch of red comes in contrast to accentuate the peace that emerges from this canvas. Ode Droit is an accomplished painter who, for the past ten years, has devoted herself exclusively to her personal expression and her favorite subject, the study of light. Inspired by the works of masters such as William Turner, Nicolas de Staël and Mark Rothko, Ode Droit seeks to transcribe in her works the emotion that emerges from the contemplation of the landscapes and to reveal the luminous intensity that is always inconsistent and rich in nuances. Increasingly oriented towards purification, her plastic practice has evolved thanks to the multiplicity of techniques used: acrylic, ink and water wax. This palette of creation allows her to constantly play with the transparency of the colors to try to extract the light and to translate its radiance into a surrounding nature, eternally changing.

Her paintings don't seek to reproduce an outer world but to contemplate the inner world. The matter of landscapes, absorbs, diffuses, reflects light. Nothing is draw, defined, this vision offers us a world in the process of composition, becoming still in its original state. The atmosphere is ethereal and the elements, air fire, earth, water, seem to harmonized, equalized, without tension. Each painting is a call to meditate. Ode was born near Paris, France, in March 1947. She resides in France, now she is most of the time in “les Cévennes” mountains in the South of France, where she is inspired by the Light.
