Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.

The view changed one day, not that far from my doorstep. As night fell near the edge of suburbia, people were heading towards an ominous, glowing horizon and a noisy event of some sort. I followed them with caution past parked police cars and surveillance cameras to where flags appeared under dark sky. There was definite tension in the air. In the foreground were the spikes of security fencing, like symbols of modern brutality, while behind them under the cross of St.George was a white and purple glare, like stage lighting for a gaudy show of nationalism. The place turned out to be a theme park, with entertainment the order of the day, and further on a clown face appeared on a 'pay here' sign, along with a CCTV warning.
