About The Artwork
The initial concept for this series was to create a literal depression, as a reference to the mental state of depression. The subject is Shelburne Bay in Vermont. The end result reminds me of the entry point to a space/time wormhole. The hole is suspended on a sheet of plexiglass set into the back of the panel's frame. I am particularly fond of the pop of pink that lines the cut area, as well as the interior of the wood panel (if you peek inside).
