About The Artwork
My recent paintings are large acrylic color studies of words or letters. The objects are situated in an atmosphere and featured like a portrait. I abstract my subject into dimensional shapes, waves and transparent sweeps. With paint I take turns and twists on these symbols developing their character. Each symbol becomes a narrative. My letters do not have to stand or support. They can float and fly and disappear and reveal. Paint can take us where physics cannot.
