Ankh or Coptic cross, a symbol originating from Ancient Egypt, is known as one of the most significant symbols. It is also known as the "key of life" or "bow of life". In the painting, the artist shows the ankh as carved on a stone, above which the symbol of the sun stands out as a bright red spot at the top with an image of the moon enclosed inside. This is a kind of fusion of the god Ra and the god Thoth into a single whole - the truth. The rising pastel white veil seems to open up knowledge to us, the legacy of Thoth, who brought the truth and indicated it to the living. With His emerald tablets, God Thoth gave into His hands the Key to removing the cover from the Truth, the key to the Gates of the Temple of Truth. The artist demonstrates to the viewer the symbolic meaning of the Coptic cross as the key to knowledge.

Morocco
A native of Belarus, Aksana Chmel now lives and works in Morocco. Her interest in art started very early. Art has always taken a very important place in her life. She started to study drawing and painting already in her early school years at the art studio of the Palace of Pioneers in Mogilev and then successfully graduated from the College of Culture and Arts in 1997. Aksana first visited Morocco with her future husband in 1992 and after finishing her education in Belarus, she moved there. In 2005, Aksana decided to follow her destiny as an artist and resumed painting. In 2008 her first exhibition took place at the Russian Cultural Center in the city of Rabat. She graduated as the Interior Designer from the Higher School of Architecture and Design in 2010. In the following years and up to the present day Aksana has participated in many collective art shows and also organized her numerous personal exhibitions. Today Aksana Chmel continues her active career as a professional artist, her works have found home in private collections in many countries such as Morocco, Russia, France, Italy,UK, USA and UAE. In her abstract paintings, she speaks to us in the language of colors and shapes about such deep philosophical meanings as : where we come from, who we are, why we are on this earth and what is happening in the human soul. And in the flowers and women's faces she wants us to read the poetry of our world. Aksana finds her inspiration in the beauty of each day and in many different mindful and spiritual practices. All of her oil paintings are unique and exist in a single copy only.
