Painting, Oil on Canvas
Size: 24 W x 36 H x 0.6 D in
This is one of two paintings that form a stereo pair - hang the pair side by side and you will see them come to life in all of their three dimensional glory. Inspired by a work that I did a couple of years ago and using the glazing techniques of the Flemish masters - and some of the same materials - this stereo dyptic has depth to its colours that modern painting methods can only dream of. However, the colours that are used - some modern pigments as well as those that were available 600 years ago - have an intensity that the Flemish masters could have only dreamed of. Coupled with the use of gold leaf, these paintings form an impressive stereo pair. Here, you can get prints of each of them and all you have to do is order one of the left image and one of the right image with the same medium and size selected and you can recreate the stereo pair whereever you wish. A warning in that your visitors - as well as you - will find these images adictive and spend much time staring at them, studying the three dimensional effect that they hold as an image pair.

I was born in Derby (England) in the 1960's and in my 20's I worked professionally for a number of years as the City of Derby's Pavement Artist and was even on the Thames Television (UK) show 'What's My Line' as a pavement artist and beat the panel. Recently, I designed a number of indic fonts that have been used in films, books, papers, posters, magazines and so on and of the top five Punjabi fonts used on the Internet, I have the top three places with 'GHP Full', 'Gurvetica' and 'Raaj'. I now work in oils on canvas and wooden panel, including projects that use only the materials that were available at the beginning of the 15th century (you can see original 15th century works in the National Gallery so we know that this technology represents an investment that will outlive many generations to come). My styles cover Anthropomorphic and non-Representational Abstract, through surrealism to that of the works of the 15th and 16th Century Dutch and Elizabethan artists.
