About The Artwork

Inspired by the resonance of people's feelings after a year of lockdown at the point just prior to the announcement of the proposed routes out of lockdown by the government, and before the sun began to shine for the beginning of Spring after the continual storms early 2021. 94th Nervous Breakdown is the second of a two-part examination in photography, print and paint of the pain, ennui, grief and depression felt by the English populace as a single entity at that moment in time as a portrayal through colour, pain relief subject matter, and style in the form of the over-exposed photograph. The background was chosen to always point back to the centre subject. The dark lavender shade was mixed from neon pink and teals for pop culture but was ultimately designed to indicate grief. This work is preceded by a manipulated digital black and white photograph mimicking a photocopy that takes the place of Thresholds of Pain 1, and is the photo element of this work.

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Exploring the relationships between diverse storytelling and the visual presentation, the pieces I design combine basic, joyful printing techniques from my own photography with papercutting, collage, paint and sometimes stitchwork to create fairy story, folk tale, and video game narratives reminiscent of daily life, blood, nature and creation. My production leans heavily towards recycled items, printing, mixed papers, gouache, acrylics, watercolours and papercutting. With inspirations as wide ranging as Matisse, Gaudi, Dali and Hans Christian Anderson, new combinations are distilled with the inception of digital narratives at their heart. My ingenuity has always sprung from being raised as a feminist by a family of strong, working class Northern women, and the many books I have toured for bright new worlds.
