About The Artwork
Inspired by a visit to a wildlife sanctuary a few year's ago, my main goal was to capture and then relay the emotion or feeling of the subject to the viewer. The choice of Pastel as a medium for me is used mainly in my wildlife paintings as it is one of the most pigmented of mediums, it allows for a very vivid image when aiming for realism. Using rich pigmented and archival Pastels thus helps the image to pop so to speak when viewed from any angle or distance.
