ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Original abstract painting. I spent the summer of 2015 (I think) producing about 12 of these color tondos... until I ran out of tape. I have never put these 2 (No.5 and 6) on any website as I thought they looked so good on the big white walls in my house! but now we have moved so it is time to let them go! The original concept was to recreate in very pure, bright colors close up photos of a children's game of 'pick-up sticks'. Tondo No. 6 Colorway (Pick-up sticks) 120cm circular tondo on 5mm board. Edges are white and 2 batons are fixed on back so the painting 'sits' a short distance away from the wall. Hanging hooks and wire are supplied. Ready to hang. Signed and dated on verso. Signed Certificate of Authenticity. Leaflet pack included.

IAN PALMER paintings / collages / sculptures. A multi-disciplined artist and designer working out of South West France. An abstract gestural artist with a personal vision, often inspired by nature, he works into the canvas, with a knife, a brush, a sponge or any tool to describe or suggest. A thought or a message which is intended to be a free interpretation for everyone, a journey to the heart of the very essence of ambiguity, where everyone meets the powerful energy of the artist to finally appropriate the entire translation. This painter favors movement in the creation of his canvas, which allows the gaze that escapes into a dreamlike atmosphere, a free space, a land conducive to the wanderings of the mind. Ian Palmer offers you a space of freedom, to walk around without direction and indulge in simple contemplation, a space to let your emotions come.
