Alban Met- hasani is an artist originally from Albania, born in Rrogozhinë in 1984. The passion for art leads him to undertake artistic studies. He initially attended the "26 Marsi" artistic high school in the nearby town of Kavajë. Subsequently, after graduating in 2003, he decided to move to Italy, enr olling in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, Milan. In 2008 he graduated and in the same year he won the first prize of the public sculpture competition "Lidia Conca", realizing his work "Unione", as a permanent monument in Novate Milanese, Mil an. In 2012, also in Brera, he obtained a second level specialist degree in Restoration of Contemporary Art. In the Academy he will work as assistant for a multi - year period in the chairs of Fresco and Drawing. Alban Met - hasani was born as a painter and over the years he has used various techniques and materials, amplifying his freedom of expression with means such as installation, sculpture and video. Protagonist of numerous collective and personal exhibitions, he won an edition of the Ricoh Prize f or young contemporary artists, at the Oberdan space, Milan, he came 2nd at The Eyes, the first television talent show dedicated to visual art in Italy. He wins the 1st prize of the fourth Extemporaneous edition of painting, "Animating the canvas" Marudo, Lodi. His works have been exhibited in various galleries and museums including the Palazzo delle Stelline, Milan; "13x17 Italian Pavilion", Venice, curated by Philippe Daverio & Jean Blanchaert; G.K.A National Gallery of Arts and National Historical Museum , Tirana; Oberdan space; San Lorenzo Gallery; Blanchaert Gallery; Giolli Art and Contemporanea; Mac’n Museum of Contemporary and Twentieth Century Art, Pistoia; Doria Pamphilj Museum, Rome; Battery Park Plaza, New York. He currently lives in Milan and teac hes at the Michelangelo Buonarroti artistic high school in Como.
