About The Artwork
My work explores urban consciousness as it relates to our local geography, its waterways, the iconic vessels - shipping freighters and their containers - and the cost of their increasing encroachment on the shorelines. The buildings are made with recycled ads for products and there are also layers of ads causing texture to the surface of the painting. I do this to bring consciousness to the issue of how we protect our fragile marine environment while at the same time enjoying our lives and all they have to offer us.
