My interpretation of the Iconic Trans America Pyramid Centre which is part of the San Francisco Skyline. The painting is inspired by my interest in the Precisionist School of painting and modernist architecture. There is also a Cubist aspect to this piece of work.

Tony lives in the U.K. in Nottingham. After a life long career in social work he retired and undertook a degree in Fine Art at Nottingham University. Since graduating he gradually been establishing himself as a practicing professional artist with a reputation for producing architectural art with a contemporary twist. He has travelled extensively over the past ten years, particularly within the USA. This has both influenced the direction of his art and greatly enhanced his knowledge of modern and contemporary art practice. My current work is part of a Project entitled 'Sensing Space through Architectural Modernism'. I have drawn on the influence of well known architects such as John Launter and Mies van der Rohe plus artists mainly from the Precisionist School e.g. Charles Demuth and Charles Sheeler. I am attempting to compose a contemporary interpretation of their work through my own individual style which is very much about light, form, space and the use of colour.
