My recent work exists as a celebration of life in the UK from the 1950's to the present day. Simple moments of everyday life expressed in painting & sculpture. Alongside that, I have a new stream of work that gives me a chance to be more expressive. I have an ongoing series of paintings called 'Transmissions' (since 2012), which was initially inspired by digital & analogue television glitches - thought I have further developed that into a style of my own. Alongside that, I sometimes immerse myself in assemblage/constructions that represent the human impact on walls/the ground - and also use small figures to create scenes/dioramas. Oh - and there have been my Mossclocks (working or not working clocks) since 2008. I have worked primarily in painting and sculpture, plus collage/construction/assemblage - but have also made short films & installations. I worked for some years as an art coordinator at centres for adults with learning difficulties/challenging behaviour, and adults with mental health issues. I enjoy including aspects of psychology in my art. Working about everyday human existence thus makes perfect sense to me. I set-up and co-ran The Freudian Sheep Art Gallery, Ipswich from 2012-16, which exhibited the art over over 150 East Anglian contemporary artists; some of the best in the region. I still enjoy curation - my most recent outing being a huge, wonderful alumni art exhibition featuring 42 fine artists who studied at the University of Suffolk from 2007-2022. Always open to exhibition opportunities. I am not an artist; I am a free man.
