ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Underground I II III is an Acrylic Painting Triptych created shortly after my arrival in Australia. At that moment, I was working on 3 main theoretical concepts: Time-Movement-Experiment. These 3 concepts served as an inspiration to a series of paintings created simultaneously, and that were part of the Art Canon 2019 exhibition in China. Underground I II III was the first painting of these series and it is the one where I visually portrayed the presence of these concepts by experimenting with the material and its possibilities. Underground represents my artistic expression of the meaning of moving to a new country, and the changes occurring in a person’s internal and external environment where time, movement, and experimentation converge to make way to a new life and reality.

My name is Camila Baeza, I was born in Santiago, Chile and I'm 28 y/o. I studied Visual Arts at the University and then I made different courses and exhibitions related to it. When I was 25 I moved to Australia and I lived in Sydney for about 3 years, that was when I started showing my work in different places, sharing with others artists out of my country and making a beautiful network. When I was in Australia I had an amazing opportunity to show my work in China, Guangzhou. So I stayed there and participated in Art Canton Conemporary Art Fair. I've had amazing opportunities and I've shared with beautiful people in this art world and that's so important to me and keeps me motivated. I'm highly active as a young artist and always trying to reach more people and art colleagues from different countries sharing artworks.
