Memories of snorkelling around the Great Barrier Reef live as yesterday. The warm, clear waters being parted by playful red darts and enquiring parrot fish always bring a smile. Among those that frolicked though, were the mighty giant Triton snails who kept the reefs free from the invading crown of thorns. Their numbers were drastically reduced by shell collectors and as a result the thorns took over. However, diligent work by conservationists has brought the Triton back and its number now increase and so the reef can flourish. Artwork has been varnished for protection. Framed in canvas float frame natural woodgrain finish.

Painting has been my consuming passion since starting to paint in late 2007. The luscious feel of rich oil paint finding its way across stretched canvas is addictive and very few days have passed without me succumbing to that passion. I am still amazed and thankful for the success my works enjoyed during those early years. Winning competitions, exhibiting overseas and having successful big city exhibitions has allowed me to continue and expand two separate and yet intrinsically joined fields for my art. My studio is part of our almost glasshouse home on top of a small hill overlooking tropical natural bushland, valley and horizon of the Coral Sea. The light here is very strong, bright and enriches the hues and the tones in the way only the Tropics can produce. All around me is the inspiration and challenge I love. Then at night my other passion takes hold as I draw back the roof on my observatory and go travelling through the heavens to the nebula that have always fascinated me. Glorious dark skies here! So - that is what I paint. What I see here and what I imagine up there! It is true, certainly for me, that every painting holds something of the artist's soul. Just a little touch that holds the joy of giving. I want my works to invite you into them - to see the beauty and pleasure. 2024 Update: I have this year returned to my easel after a six year absence. Just wonderful to be creating again!
