Triumph X-75 Hurricane Painting

This Triumph X-75 Hurricane motorcycle painting was created in waterproof inks and gouache applied by brush on canvas, a medium I have grown to like as it feels more substantional than watrecolour paper. The Triumph X-75 Hurricane motorcycle was a 'factory special’ motorcycle designed by American Craig Vetter. It has stylish fibreglass bodywork, lowered gearing and a distinctive triple exhaust on the off-side. The design went into a limited production run of 1200 in 1972 and stopped in 1973. The motorcycle is credited with creating a new class of motorcycle: the cruiser. It was the bike I never bought when I had the chance, before the prices became outrageous! I painted the picture between August/September 2018 in Torbay, UK and finished it in Berlin in Germany. I like to spend time with an image, doing small improvements as I notice they are needed.
