ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Original work done with oil pastels on rigid wood board. The oil pastel adds texture to the surface of the work. Please note that oil pastels do not dry (well, very slightly over time, but never 100%), so if you need to handle them, take precautions. Format 20x20cm. Frame supplied (white or black depending on stock) with passe-partout. Unique work signed. Certificate of authenticity supplied. Delivery guaranteed. Colorimetry may vary from one screen to another! My favorite subject is the search for oneself, one's identity through the years, encounters. Our capacity for adaptation and resilience. The deconstruction of the norms and injunctions of society in order to be able to rebuild a true self. I don't like to confine myself to a single style. I paint according to my desires. What I like with pastels is the material, the relief, the raw side, color intensity. Each line is an emotion that escapes.

G. Carta is a painter, stencil artist and collagist. She was born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium) and lives in Le Havre (Normandy). At 16, she bought her first brushes and acrylic tubes. His interest is in portraits. Her style becomes clearer when she encounters Pop Art. She breaks with the black and white portrait and invades her palette of pigments. 10 years later it's love at first sight for StreetArt. She is interested in the techniques of movement and hangs with that of the stencil. From collage to aerosol cans, passing through the brush or oil pastels, she tries to exploit different techniques and combine them. Today, his works are exhibited in various galleries in Europe (Aix en Provence, Lyon and Lübeck in Germany).
