ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work was painted in oil (Ladoga and Master Class) on linen canvas in my signature technique of grass-writing. The surface in places is textured, voluminous, rough, with particles of grass. I painted this picture in the open air in Buryatia, in one of the most beautiful places in Russia. Not far from Lake Baikal. The plot for this work came to me when I sat on the bank of the river and looked into the distance, at the Sayan Mountains. It depicts a lonely house, which stands in the middle of a huge valley, where there is a river below and a mountain at the top.

Russian artist Nelly Akchurina, born 1987 in Ufa, is a member of the Association of professional artists of the International Association of Art of the UNESCO and of the "Union of artists of Russia". Laureate and diploma winner of international, Russian and regional exhibitions. A permanent participant in russian and international plein air and art symposiums. Her artistic creations include a wide variety of technical fields - painting, graphic arts, hot batik. She uses many different combinations of materials, including a large experimentation in mixed media. Her unusual and particularly bright colors highlight her creations. Her works are present in many collections - Nesterov National State Museum of Bashkortostan (Ufa), National State Art Museum of Chuvashia (Cheboksary), Historical and Architectural State Art Museum (Yelabuga), Museum of Frescoes of Dionisius (Ferapontov Monastery, Vologda Region) as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad (USA, Hong-Kong, Germany, Israel, Australia, Lithuania, Georgia, Turkey ).
