About The Artwork
There are two cities. One looking onto the sea, the other contained in it. Identical to one another, you can't tell which of the two is more real. One reaches towards the sky, the other towards the horizon. But it's just enough a gentle breeze that ripples the surface of the water and the reflected city shatters into a thousand pieces. Acrylic on cotton canvas Dimensions of the canvas : 60×40 cm / 23.62×15.74 in Depth of the canvas: 2 cm / 0.78 in •Some curiosities about the Corricella• The village of Corricella was founded around 1500, when the fishermen of the island of Procida began to build their homes on the Marina at the foot of Terra Murata, a fortified town overlooking the sea and until then the only inhabited center of the small island. The new residential nucleus stood at the foot of the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, which, however, until the last century appeared to be without the dome due to the tenacious opposition of a local noble family who did not want to see the family palace (which stands exactly behind the church but which you do not see in the painting) deprived of the panoramic view . The small houses, in Mediterranean style, were built leaning against each other, so much so that they looked like a single architectural body and it is said that they were painted in bright colors to allow fishermen to locate their house more easily from the sea. Over the years the simple and authentic beauty of the Corricella has attracted tourists and travellers from all corners of the world and even the cinema has paid tribute to this incredible place. Here, in fact, films such as Il Postino by Massimo Troisi and Michael Radford and The talented Mr. Ripley by Anthony Minghella have been shot.

My love for art has its roots in my childhood and, over time, has found fertile ground in my calm and solitary nature and my taste for beauty. Painting is the language that I feel most viscerally mine and is for me an experience of personal enrichment. The long hours of solitary work in my studio allow me to turn off the noise of everyday life in which we are immersed and rediscover the truest part of me, cultivate observation and patience, tenacity and optimism. I love the sea, the sun and the Mediterranean culture, which I have had the privilege of nourishing myself with from an early age. My paintings reflect all this and represent, in vibrant colours, landscapes and nature, allowing me to celebrate their beauty. I use acrylic paints to create my works, whose characteristics are best suited to my way of creating. Their quick drying allows me to follow the inspiration of the moment. Each of my paintings is the result of a superimposition of layers, which gives fullness and body to the colour, enriching each element of the painting with beautiful nuances. Each artwork is a unique piece, painted with love.
