Two Sides Painting

Claudia Concha is a Los Angeles-based, Colombian Architect and Visual Artist, whose practice includes abstract paintings, drawings, installations and art performances. Concha’s work delves into the expressive potential of calligraphy within the realm of abstract art, pushing the boundaries of traditional script to create captivating and imaginative visual expressions. Concha’s unique artistic voice evolved through her practice of automatic painting, allowing her to convey what her body dictates through gestures. She further explored this by employing her non-dominant hand with her eyes closed, allowing spontaneity and intuition to play a significant role in the artistic process. Through the use of abstract brushwork and spontaneous gestures, Concha’s work vividly showcases the untamed vitality and expressive language inherent in calligraphic abstraction.
