Painting: Oil, Pigment, Pastel on Canvas.
When I decides to paint this painting I was fascinated by the mythology of Ulysses and journey. A painting from Arnold Böcklin - Ulysses standing looking at the sea with his longing to leave and explore, and in front his wife Penelope sitting on a red blanket wishing to hold him back with her love had a deep impact on me. Because I recognised my own yearning in both of the figures, the wish to go out and explore unknown territories, and the need for love. I created a second abstract painting in blue, purple and green tones called Ulysses.
